(1935) As her marriage looms, Sachiko Chiba (for a time, Mrs. Naruse in real life) tries to reconcile her estranged parents, Mom a poetess who writes yearning haiku about her estranged husband - whom Chiba has to track down way out in a comically portrayed boondocks, complete with a surprisingly and goodhearted mistress.
